Buffet hours: Noon to 4pm daily
Serves: About 30 dishes, including beef casserole, Egyptian-style shepherd's pie, a choice of mushroom or chicken soup and desserts such as creme caramel.

They have another outlet that has received quite good reviews, but that one does not offer buffets. Price-wise, it's cheaper than if we were to massage chicken meat and mess with charcoal by ourselves. And we can save on the trouble too. I doubt anyone has tried the food before. I haven't either. Nevermind lah, anyhow try! If it sucks, not more than 10 bucks is wasted. So, it's going to be a lunch thing. After everyone's full we can go do something else.

Tuesday immediately after physics paper all the way till dinner time then get your butt back home to prepare for school.

1. Pay up for TIME magazine.
It's $36.20 per head and bring by Wednesday (knowing you people ... -_-"). All will have to pay except Shuhui, Mingyi, Wei Teng & Leonard.

2. Borrowing of class magazines.
Each month (or week? dunno) we get a copy of some (random?) magazine like Reader's Digest or National Geographic. If you want to borrow, pls approach your very friendly GP rep to fill in a form and borrow it.
Note: max. period of loan is 3 days currently so that ~10 people can read it each month. The period of loan will vary depending on the number of people who actually do borrow it.

CLASS TEE

ok. as promised, we'll move on with Class Tee once thursday is over. there are 5 designs to choose from:

- the 2 that you see in the previous entry
- shaun's modified design
- yanlong's idea (to be materialised by shaun)
- chershiong designed something with stickmen

there are some problems, though. chershiong can't upload his design due to technical difficulties. however, he did try to tell me what it's about - stickmen that represent all of us. shaun is uncontactable. i don't know if he has done yanlong's design. so yanlong, if you really want to contribute, please try to create it by yourself!

then there is the issue of drifit or cotton. there are some violent objections to tiapyang's darling drifit shirt. of course, what has been voiced on the tagboard may only be the minority of the class.

i'll be contacting you by sms soon on the following issues:

Please settle the Class Tee design as soon as possible. Latest by middle of next week. Arty-farties who're blessed with the skills in photo-shopping, we will require your divine intervention.

I have the contact of a shirt-printer. I suggest Dri-fit material. For those of you who don't know what that is, its just something damn cool lah k, nicer than cotton, not hotter, I assure you. My CCA shirt is from the same company. Also you may want to take into account whether we want collar. I think collars would look cool on the current shirt design.

Price is about $15. And its quite reasonable since cotton shirts would also hit close to $10.

Shu Hui and Ming Yi, I will be going away to camp next week, Mon, Tue, Wed. So in the event that the design comes in during one of those days please call to inform and then I'll give you the contact number of the shirt-printer and you can do the rest.

Quickly please, this project has been on hold for the entire year already.

Dear All.

Well, what can I say. It's been a hectic half a year for the most of us, with competitions and trainings to juggle on top of all that academic bitch we have had to go through. And the results, the fruits of our education, have just ripened with the revelation of our block test results. I think we all have to agree that except for the exceptional few, they have been absolutely horrendous.

I don't know about the rest of you but I am damn bloody disappointed with what has been "achieved" by myself. God above knows that during the holidays I spent a whole chunk of my precious time actually mugging for this stupid series of tests, and I think the amount of time spent on self-learning during this period of time outweighs all of that accumulated over the past 4 years. Yet it wasn't enough, yet it wasn't sufficient to push my score beyond the seconday school level of at least a C6. That is absolutely pathetic. Maybe I'm just stupid, maybe it's just not meant to be and you know what, it really pisses me off.

Well, I can always comfort myself with the saying that "block tests are meant for you to fail", but I wonder what that would serve to achieve. Self-gratification? Ego-booster? Or just another plain irresponsible way to wave off my laziness for the past 7 months? The truth is this: JC is really DIFFERENT this time. You know all that bullcrap your teachers in sec 4 has been telling you? About how secondary 4 is different from PSLE? THAT was the shit. But this time I'm sorry to say that it definitely is not. Look at what one month of chiong-ing has done for me. Nuts I tell you. It's all come down to nothing because I just couldn't understand things at this kind of deeper level that JC brings to you. And it really boils down to one main thing: MY LACK OF CONSISTENCY.

You see? Like most of you I don't listen in lectures and tutorials. I happily sleep my time away, living in the dream that one day in a burst of inspiration and motivation I'll catch up on all that I've missed. Like most of you I never do my homework, thinking that it isn't worth my time anyway. After all, I can always do them some other time, when I'm not too busy watching anime and playing computer games. And when those mini-tests come, heck lah! The percentage so small like I give shit like that.

Sounds familiar? Face it that's YOU. And me too.

Wake up. Do you really think there's nothing wrong with how you view your work? Yeah fine, this blasted mentality has seen you through the past ten years in this bastard of an education system. But that doesn't mean that it's gonna work now. I mean just look at your results ok, you really think this is gonna work? Even if you scrap through this year, how about the next? How about your A levels? How about medicine? Scholarship? S-paper? University entry? Do you wanna be forced into taking a uni-course you absolutely detest and be stuck for the rest of your life doing something you don't even have an inkling of interest in? This is really serious ok. Let me give you a few numbers? 200 medical students per year in NUS, 2 Singaporeans per year going to MIT, 50 A-star scholars a year. Have you any idea how tight the competition is. With this kinda results now what do you think you're gonna do in 2 years time (not considering the NS bullshit)? Probably some physical education course in NIE don't you think.

Seriously, what do you want to do with your life? I think its really time for us to sit back and think about it for once. The past 17 years has been fun and play for all of us, especially since we're from IP, don't have idiot O levels. Don't you agree it really is enough. Our teen-years are drying up. Before you know it we're gonna be fully circumcised adults, supposedly able to stand up for ourselves and constantly make logical decisions. If we don't start training ourselves now, then when?

Of course all this so far has just been talk. Now what we truly need is the DISCIPLINE. Oh God, how fervently I pray everyday for this virtue to drop onto me suddenly from the sky. But you know yourself that it doesn't work that way, and that human characteristics are the hardest to change. Its maddeningly tough, and we're gonna face so much hardships in this process of changing ourselves that it could very well drive us insane. But come to think of it, wouldn't it all be worthwhile? Really. Don't you want to be somebody?

I don't wanna delve into the hard details of how you should spend your time and everything. I think we're all smart enough to come out with solutions for ourselves on our own. But for now, I shall make a public resolution for myself in front of all of you.

NEVER WILL I LAG BEHIND IN LECTURES ANYMORE. EVEN IF I SLEEP I WILL MAKE SURE THAT BY THE END OF THE WEEK I KNOW EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING, AND NO LESS THAN EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN GONE THROUGH IN LECTURES.

TUTORIALS WILL HEREBY NEVER BE LEFT EMPTY OR BEHIND SCHEDULE. THEY WILL BE DONE PROMPTLY AND WITH UTMOST DILIGENCE WITH THE ENDING OF ANY LECTURE.

These are my 2 commandments for now. What about you? God help me. I am only human and I know I am bound to err. But all I can do is to try my best to bring myself around, I hope all of you can do the same. It's really time.

Let's work together in this ok? We're still that heartwarming, earth-shattering, unstoppable 62 class. Remember orientation? Remember how much we did for each other? The fun continues, but let's not forget what we're truly in this damn school for, what our futures might hold for us. We're all individuals with limitless potential, and let's not waste that.

Just give me one more "six-two" ok? We can do this.

Chemistry Matters

As most of you can tell from the previous chemistry tutorial, Mr. Pang isn't very pleased with our results and our attitude towards the subject. Apparently it is not his general mood as he isn't as pissed at the other class as he is with us.

So basically this is a plea to all (most) of you to straighten out your attitudes towards chemistry at least. Do your tutorials, listen in class, be active and what not. Just be students for once. I believe all of us are under-achieving for chemistry and most of us need the remedial lessons Mr. Pang is going to deny us of. I hope none of you habour any intentions of giving up on chemistry because of our abysmal block test performance.

So, erm, the first thing to do by this weekend is Alkenes tutorial, which Mr. Pang will be going through on Thursday. Please do it and show Mr. Pang that 06s62 > Chemistry. If our attitude picks up, I believe I can persuade Mr. Pang to help us.

This is Mr Chua. This message is a harsh one. Only those intending to skip the camp should read:

If I have my way, I would bar all absentees-without-reason from the taking the block test. Unreasonable? If you think you have the freedom to choose which school event to attend and which is not worth your time, the school should also has the freedom to choose which school event you can attend.

Oh you didn't ask for the camp, it is a waste of time, the school is too "eng", never asked for your opinion? Does the school have to seek your opinion on whether you want to attend the flag-raising? P.E.? Cross-country? Do you know the meaning of the word compulsory? The Leadership Camp is a compulsory school event. If you are the "rights" and "freedom" type, you have the rights and freedom to attend another school which does not have compulsory events.

Look, I am angry with the way you ignore other people's position, and only think about what you want, the display of self-centeredness. Some living human beings have put in a lot of time and effort to coordinate the event for you, thinking it would benefit you. If you are really reluctant to go, have the basic courtesy to inform them in advance. No, you handed in the consent form, let those people work out all the logistics, and tell yourself you will decide whether to attend when the time comes, if I happy I attend, if not I pon. You better stop behaving like the world revolves around you.

Until now, I only know that Hao Chuien and Han Lu are officially excused. The rest, I expect you to show up. If you are going to show me an MC, I will personally check the authenticity of your MC. If you are going to produce a letter from your parents talking of your holiday plans, I will call them and ask them to explain why they did not inform the school of the plan earlier. In short, if you are going to fake an excuse, be prepared for more trouble.

Now, what is so bad about going for some outdoor activities with your classmates? You will be doing stupid things, of course. But everyones' fondest memories are always of them doing stupid things with their friends, together. Go to Ubin and collect your life's stories, where else do you want to be?

It is one of the best choices because people can come and go at any time, unlike if we go watch a movie. And also, it's quite difficult to implement the chalet idea! Mr Lee says the time of submission has been standardized at 9am. So hand in your work to Jian Wei BEFORE 9am i.e. before school starts unless you (want to) pon PE. Yeah.

1. All work must be TYPEWRITTEN in TIMES NEW ROMAN, size 12 with DOUBLE SPACING.

2. EVERY page must be NUMBERED and have your NAME and CLASS included in the header/footer as well.

3. All PIs must come with a TITLE
This will be the title that is written on your cover page of the entire file (to be given out tomorrow upon submission). The title must be found on the very first page of the PI as a heading. PRELIMINARY IDEA is not an accepted title.

heh im here to add sum life to e blog =P As a RESPONSIBLE“assistant CT rep”, I havta sorta brief you guyz about the online virtual business challenge. (the one you all heard about during the CT session todae) hmmz although I wasnt there for almost the entire talk but nvm lar, tts not the main pt.

So here goes. Every claz is supposed to send at least one team of 4 members to participate in this competition. Ya so must enthu arh those interested can come and look for me. You all can go to http://www.hci.vbc.org/ to register. The registrations are opened from 23-29 March. There will be a training session on 5th april. And the game will take place from 10 april to 25 may. 5 teams will proceed to the finals which will take place in Term 2 Week 10. Groups that enter the finals will not be able to participate in the elective modules of the Sabbatical Week.

Basically participants will run virtual clothing retail stores online and see who can emerge with the highest performance index. Eh I think it will be quite fun sumore got excuse to play computer lar!! There will also be prizes, the 1st prize 1000 bucks 2nd prize 500 bucks 3rd prize no money (okae not farnie -.-“) however registration fee for each person is 4 bucks.

Oh ya if none of u want to take part rite.. Im supposed to randomly choose ani 4 of u to take part :P heehee but try to be enthu and take the initiative bah. Hmm I tink tts bout it =)

Seems like you guys had loads of fun during the idiot tests today! Heh heh. But it'll be my turn soon anyway.

Changed the layout. Comments? It was the theme for my old blog. I really need people who can do HTML to volunteer and turn this into something more acceptable...

Anyway I know it's old news, but the euphoria just doesn't wear off that quickly. We stick together! And that's really so so so so so x 2000^23 cool! Hahaha. I really thought we'd split and go our seperate ways, and I was preparing myself for it (albeit really unsuccessfully) but when the news broke it really was damn happy and for you who didn't notice, Tom, Dick and Harry (repectively, Felix, Me and Winston; yes im a dick) were gaying at the back of the classroom.

And you heard Chan and Pang too. It's really time for us to do something about our trouble-making. It's hard and sounds impossible but we gotta try cuz they can still split us up anytime. Like Mr Chua said, we did great during assembly that day, waking up sleepers when teachers were doing their rounds, and that's a great start for all of us I guess.

Once again a big thank-you, hug and wet-mushy kiss to Mr Chua and Mr Pang who stood up for us. And all other tutors who we might have missed cuz they defended us behind closed doors.

Today i had 2 tests, CSP and BIO.

I studied for neither. And i din really intend to study in great detail. I got owned in both tests.

CSP test ruled. MK shaded all "c"s in the OMR form. I think he din change. lol that rowks.
Anywae, i bet the cert they are going to give us is called "Cert of CSP noobz", i mean, how many people is gotta excel in this crap? And also, wads teh pt of this lame ass course? Is it to " educate the lameass teens in the Chinese culture to allow them to excel in China when they work there" or like some other stupid agenda. I'm freaking out now. God whu would look at this cert anywae. I hate china.

Bio test was more ownage... i saw a few sugars that i never even read about be4. wooo. I even saw questions that demanded that u read widely and think critically. And Evil-lish-ly, the teachers gave 4 mark qns with 5 lines that prmpted students to write more than 10 lines. Wow. Bio teachers are really evil. And conincidentally, there was a question on the drawing of triglycerides. WTH? ANGELIC ACID, MINGIC ACID and PINGIC ACID?!?!?!! That sounds soooo wrong!!!! Angel Yang.. About your behaviour in the audi during Mr Ang's speech... Ok you were better behaved than many other classes. But do learn to keep yourself awake during lecture. The way I do it is to have little puzzles that I can think through in my brain, while the speaker goes on and on. It works well because the speaker thinks I am thinking deeply about what he is saying, but I am thinking of my physics, maths, whatever.

Now many of you were sniggling whenever Mr Ang struggled with the pronounciation of some English words. Rude, you know? Winston even turned around and asked me how come I was not laughing. :-) I did not laugh because there wasn't anything funny. Many of you do not realize Mr Ang is more than 60 years old. During his school days, English was not the 1st language. He had a pure chinese stream education, all the way up to his university days. He was a Chinese teacher. You can imagine how little english he learnt from school. For him to be able to improve his English to his current level, he must have spent lots of time and effort. You got to admire his determination. And he is probably quite clever too. Can you think of any other Chinese-language teacher who could speak English fluently? If at the age of 30 you were to start studying Tamil, do you think you can deliver a speech in Tamil one day? This is the scale of Mr Ang's achievement. Its not like he is not aware that you were laughing at him. But that did not stop him from speaking to you. This is true courage. I always think there is much to learn from Mr Ang.

When we have the time, I can share with you some of the "classic" blunders that Mr Ang has been in the past. True, those funny moments still bring a smile to my face, but I still admire Mr Ang for reasons I have written earlier. And I will certainly not show any reaction in his presence. That is basic courtesy.

Only way to describe chem test today, I'm sure for everyone, can be summed up in 2 words: "screwed up", but for maybe a few of us, one of those words will be replaced by another with the same meaning albeit higher up in the vulgarity scale, and contains 1 less letter.

If you still can't understand what I'm trying to say I think you're damn slow.

Think today's debate went quite well, and the crossfire seemed interesting though I wasn't really concentrating. Was writing my reply speech. Many people have come up to me and said we have a very high chance of winning. I share the same sentiments, but not the same enthusiasm. It's damn stressful up there seriously, and your mind ceases to function in a situation as such. Your muscles don't seem to be able to adhere to instructions from your nervous system and you end up trembling at the hands while holding up your speech-paper and stuttering and stammering. But still. S62 spirit I guess. It'd be a good thing if we get through to the next round. I think if we really utilize our brain and speech power and don't slack too much we could go very far in this. Shaun and Leonard really showed how much stuff they're worth in the area of debating today, damn pro.

Cheerios. Hope you guys have gotten everything ready for tomorrows "revelation". As if we don't already know our respective angels. Except the ignorant minority who still are left in the dark.

Reminding you of your GIRO FORM AND PHOTOCOPIED BANK BOOK STUFF. We're damn late already. Okay okay, I haven't handed in too, I admit. But that's because I forgot to put mine into the whole stack of those who have already submitted.

AND S CLUB SEVEN and SHAUN SEE TOW you're the only ones left who haven't paid up for dramafeste. Honestly, we are already one week late for submission. I don't even know noe whether we can have enough tickets for the whole class to participate.

Also... I appeal to wan peng and friends to participate in Athenian idol! Please. A bit of enthu leh. Athena needs great people to facilitate. Like us! =)

All right! Here’s what we gathered from you guys after some crazy debating online. MSN is a very lousy way of communicating. Anyhow, here are some of the details:

Date: To be confirmed (we’ll be asking seniors first)
Activity: Sentosa outing + BBQ
Meeting place: Harbourfront MRT station (NEL)
Meeting time: To be confirmed (we’ll be starting in the morning!)

Things we need to settle:
1. Exact activities at Sentosa (discuss in school together)
2. Lunch

The duration of JTS is expected to be: from 10am in the morning to past 9. The venue for the BBQ is to be kept unknown (for reasons only known to us).

BBQ Hard Equipment (Included just for reference)
1. 2 bags of charcoal from NTUC
2. 2 wiremesh from NTUC
3. 1 box of firestarters from NTUC
4. 1 brush (for buttering food) from NTUC
5. Sufficient untensils for eating from NTUC
6. Sufficient serviettes from NTUC
7. 1 lighter
8. 3 aluminium trays

**Note:
1. Food will be bought some of the guys on the day itself. And they will be the ones deciding what food to buy.
2. In the case of wet weather, the BBQ segment will be shifted and cooking will be done indoors.

STJ on 5/2/2006

05S62 initiated a STJ session on 06S62. Date was 5/2/2006 from 12.30pm to god knows how late.

No point elaborating what we did. Basically it can be summarised:
-Long travelling time
-Do malu stuff to attract attention
-Try to win
-Speed hacks/imba transports are allowed for some weird reason

Positive point of view:
Travelling with our seniors really gave us an opportunity to know them better. Since the journey is long we got ample time to talk. It also helps to boost our team spirit in working together in our attempt to win the 1st prize.
And we can throw our faces together! Yay we were all idiots! Nice spirit! And i guess the public got entertained too!
And then we got a fairly well dinner from our seniors! The food was good! Thank you! And thanks yuzhong for inviting us to ur house!
Finally we learn how to play mahjong :D

Negative point of view (seniors please refrain from reading this):
1st thing at 12.30pm, seniors were hiding in the WHOLE school and expect us to find them. Some more hide in unobvious places. Can't have some cow sense the faster they come out the faster the group can zhao!
Boon Lay to Simei. Nice idea. Most of us haven't even got our lunch and we are supposed to stone in the MRT train (or taxi for those using speed hacks!)
Then we get to do malu stuff like ppl that have no self-dignity.
Despite how enthu we were, the lack of anti-hack programs made some group manage to jump from fifth place to first place at the last station using a rather expensive speed hack called a taxi. (GMs what u all doing, never go ban their accounts and delete their characters! :D)
We only managed to socialise with our own groups. Not the entire class. It should be called group outing then.

Then again JTS session have yet to come! So we must give our seniors an unforgettable experience!

Hey there! Finally, tiappy’s not the one blogging. This is regarding JTS:

It’s already STJ this Sunday and that means JTS will be coming right up. Time to give our lovely seniors a treat (: okay, we’ve heard a few suggestions here and there. Suggestions include:

BBQ at someone’s house
Nice dinner at a restaurant
Beach outing

WE NEED MORE SUGGESTIONS so start tagging NOW (: more details will be confirmed at a slightly later date. Must be enthusiastic ok! First time we’re organizing something.. Stressed man. Hahah ok just kidding..

Another thing, we're proposing for JTS to be on a Saturday. Any violent objections: please raise them asap so planning will be easier.

Lastly, liwei mentioned about getting a class tee!! Some seniors have also encouraged us to get one soon.. What do you all think? From past experiences, customised shirts cost $10-$15 each. Hey everyone, a few updates.

Our banner has been painted. It looks.... SIMPLE! =) It shall be hung on 2nd storey at central plaza.

We have totally pon-tanged our 5566 song competition.

Many people still have not paid class funds.

We have procured 2 Athena fac towels from class funds to wipe the class bench. That's $8 altogether.

We have a CNY stall to settle. So far the plan is for me to bring a container to put water, some one to bring syrup, some one to run over to 7-11 to get ice, some one to go water cooler and fill up my container, some one to mix the syrup into the container with its water, some one to dunk in the ice and some one to collect the money.

Total estimated cost of project: $10
Estimated revenue: $0.20.

Balance: -$9.80

Ok, ok. Maybe it won't be that bad, but we may incur losses, but they'll be minimal. Even if we screw up the whole 10 bucks, don't worry, that's 40c per person. Not bad.

It's been a really exciting and eventful orientation for all of us, I'm quite sure. And I guess we'll all look back upon with fond memories. =)
